Background
Tahaluf, the leading trade, transport, and logistics group, has become a major force in the events industry, generating an economic impact of $17.6 billion by 2025. This was announced by Tahaluf CEO Michael Champion during his keynote speech at the Gulf Business Saudi Business and Investment Summit in Riyadh.
The company was founded as a partnership between Informa, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP), and the Events Investment Fund (EIF). Its goal is to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by organizing large-scale business events that attract investors and global decision-makers.
By 2025, Tahaluf will host 21 event brands where they will attract one million people annually. Among them, 100,000 will come from outside Saudi Arabia, creating new opportunities for investment and business partnerships. “It’s like filling over 400 Boeing Dreamliners with international visitors,” said Champion.
The key events that Tahaluf organizes are the Global Health Exhibition, LEAP, Cityscape Global, and DeepFest. Such platforms have contributed to the announcement of government contracts valued at almost 150 billion since 2022, which directly stimulated the Saudi economy.
The total event space now covers 700,000 square meters, roughly the size of 17 Wembley stadiums.
Champion pointed out that such events enable Saudi Arabia to establish positive international business relations. He also spoke of extending Tahaluf to other countries by launching LEAP East in Hong Kong, the first Saudi-based global event brand.
In this way, Tahaluf contributes significantly in making Saudi Arabia one of the business and investment destinations in the world.
