Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation( GACA) has issued a license to an Air Arabia institute patronized by KUN Investment Holding and Nesma. The new low- cost carrier will operate from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and will be committed to erecting the Kingdom’s aeronautics sector. GACA said that the design will expand seat capacity, enhance connectivity, and give competitive service to guests.
The airline sector will include a line of 45 aircraft serving 24 domestic and 57 transnational routes. Carrying around 10 million passengers per time, the carrier will induce further than 2,400 direct employment openings. The design is part of Saudi Vision 2030, which includes diversifying the frugality, development of tourism, and employment generation.
Eastern Province Governor Prince Saud bin Naif has approved master plans for King Fahd, Al-Ahsa, and Qaisumah airport expansion in a recent move. SR1.6 billion of the budget has gone to 77 projects under which airport facilities will be upgraded, improving passengers’ experience and future expansion.
This launch is in compliance with the Saudi National Transport and Logistics Strategy whereby it will carry 330 million passengers and 4.5 million tons of cargo annually in 2030. King Fahd International Airport carried 12 million passengers in 2024 with an increase of 15 percent per annum. The new airline will play a significant role in making the Kingdom a global leading international aviation hub in the Middle East.
